I’ve been shooting at The Pines in Gowanus as a sort of personal project to take more chances and up my food photography game. It’s refreshing being able to make mistakes and keep going back until I make it work. Expect more in the near future.
Who’s in, who’s out, and what farmers forgot to set the alarm
Finally local asparagus at the Greemarket. Can’t wait to get my hands on some.
Yesterday I took advantage of the amazing spring weather by grilling trout with my friend Agaton in his back yard in Cobble Hill. I’ll confess that I know next to nothing about grilling but at least I’ve figured out how to judge doneness of fish so it came out amazing. The trout is topped with a quick salsa verde with parsley, rosemary, garlic, anchovy, sherry vinegar and olive oil. On the side we made a shaved fennel and arugula salad and foil roasted some thin sliced yukon gold potatoes on the grill. All around pretty simple and delicious spring meal.
